Treasures of the Natural World at ArtScience Museum
Treasures of the Natural World at ArtScience Museum will be set across five themed galleries.
The exhibition begins with the story of the origins of Natural History Museum and Sir Hans Sloane whose private collection of more than 400,000 natural history specimens formed the nucleus of the British Museum which later spun off the Natural History Museum.
Visitors will learn how specimens collected have influenced scientific minds such as Darwin and Wallace. They will also be able to find out more about early pioneer explorers and how the environment impacts nature’s diversity.
A giant ground sloth and sabre-toothed cat will be among the exhibits on display.
The exhibition concludes with a look at the work of the Natural History Museum today. This includes predicting and mitigating the impact of climate change and managing natural resources.
