Since its opening in 2019, Jubilee Park has become a favourite family-friendly spot at Fort Canning Park. Occupying the bottom of the western slopes of the historic hill, Jubilee Park and its playground will now be expanded and enhanced in 2021.
Jubilee Park Enhancements
The existing Jubilee Park features play equipment for children including swings, see-saws and climbing logs. These makes use of the existing hill slope and terrain of the park.
In the next phase of enhancements, Jubilee Park will be doubled in size to 0.98 hectares with new play features added. These include a discovery rain garden, play mounds, sand play, trampolines and climbing structures.
These nature-play features will provide more opportunities for children and families to get in touch with nature. Similar biophilic play features have been introduced at nature playgardens in locations such as HortPark and Cyclist Park.

The Foothills
The Jubilee Park playgarden expansion will bring it closer to The Foothills, the site of the former River Valley Swimming Pool. The landscaping at The Foothills will be redesigned to provide seamless connectivity with Jubilee Park.
In addition, there will be new food & beverage options and event spaces introduced at The Foothills. NParks will be issuing a call for proposals by the end of February 2020 in this respect.
The plans for Jubilee Park and The Foothills are part of overall plans to create a green belt along Orchard Road, which will include a revamped and expanded Istana Park.
