The Punggol Waterway Park therapeutic garden has opened. It is Singapore’s sixth therapeutic garden and the first in the north east of the island.

Therapeutic gardens are designed to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of park users.
First launched in May 2016 at HortPark, these are outdoor gardens incorporate therapeutic environments that have been developed based on best practices and evidence-based design principles relating to therapy to help improve mental well-being.

Punggol Waterway Park Therapeutic Garden
The Punggol Waterway Park therapeutic garden, like others around Singapore, has been designed for visitors of all ages and incorporates user-friendly features.
Some of these features include raised planters and seating areas that accommodate and provide greater accessibility to wheelchair users.
At the Punggol Waterway Park therapeutic garden, visitors can enjoy a scenic view of the waterway. Take a rest at the viewing deck to soak in the views.
For those seeking some tranquillity and a chance to unwind, there are elements for them to interact with, such as the fragrant and brightly-coloured native plants and flowers. Interact with fragrant, coloured and textured plant such as the Red-flowered Sea Grape.
The new therapeutic garden at Punggol Waterway Park can be found next to Car Park A. It is accessible from Punggol Walk. It is located across the waterway from the Punggol Waterway Park playground.
Therapeutic Gardens in Singapore
According to NParks’ City in Nature blueprint, there will be 30 therapeutic gardens offering health and wellness benefits by the year 2030.
Currently, the other therapeutic gardens can be found at Pond Gardens, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, Choa Chu Kang Park, HortPark, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Tiong Bahru Park.
