London’s Natural History Museum is half a world away but, thanks to the internet, we are still able to follow along with what is going on there. Most recently, the world famous Natural History Museum has launched its #NHMHomeworkClub which explores its collection which include dinosaurs.
Natural History Museum’s #NHMHomeworkClub
Sadly, the United Kingdom is experiencing a resurgence in COVID-19 cases. This has caused many areas into a lockdown. To aid parents and teachers who may need to engage kids who are staying at home, the Natural History Museum’s Learning department has created the #NHMHomeworkClub.
Parents and teachers: today we launch our #NHMHomeworkClub. Let’s start by discussing the most important question of all! What is a dinosaur🦖? Join Connor and Tom as they explore this question and then head to our quiz to test yourself! ➡️https://t.co/ENV0RLtOcf pic.twitter.com/I1r13FsL45

Available over Twitter, it is hosted by two staff from the museum, Connor and Tom.
In the first instalment, the pair brought up the question “What is a Dinosaur”? While many of us think we instinctively think we know what a dinosaur is, as part of the NHMHomeworkClub, there are links to informational pages on the National History Museum website which explore the question in a more scientific manner.
Exploring Natural History
For this first topic on “What is a Dinosaur”, on the website, there is also a quiz for kids (or adults) to test how well they know dinosaurs and resources for further exploration.
The NHMHomeworkClub will have new instalments each day. Even for those who are not in London or the UK, it is a chance to tune in and learn some informative facts over the coming days and weeks, especially if the kids have a strong interest in natural history.
Check out the NHMHomeworkClub on the NHM Learn Twitter feed.
