Itching to try something besides the usual sports? Sport Singapore has collaborated with the Hungary Embassy to place 20 teqball tables at ActiveSG Sport Centres around Singapore.
Cross between Football and Table Tennis
Teqball is a cross between football and table tennis. It is played with normal football on a specially teqball table. The teqball table has a low net, just like what you’d find on a table tennis table, however it is convex-shaped to allow the ball to bounce towards the player.
Teqball can be played either two-player or four-player. The sport was invented in Hungary in 2012 by three football enthusiasts. It came about when one of the inventors, Gábor Borsányi, played with a football on a table tennis table.
The ball can be struck with the feet, head and even the body. There are specific rules such as not allowing the same body part to be used consecutively twice in a rally.
