As part of the online activities for the Mid-Autumn Festival @ Jurong Lake Gardens, NParks has come up with a fun activity that families can do together. Here’s how to make a cute Bunny Mooncake Box.
Materials for a Bunny Mooncake Box
Here’s what you need to make a Bunny Mooncake Box.
- A cereal box
- Ruler
- Markers
- Scissors
- Penknife
- Tape
- Pen or pencil
- Coloured paper
How To Make Bunny Mooncake Box
First, flatten the cereal box into a single piece of cardboard. Cut a 22cm x 22xm square from the cereal box. Keep the remaining cardboard pieces as that will be used to make the bunny ears In this Bunny Mooncake Box.
Measure and cut along the lines in the template below.
Fold along the indicated lines, then, tape and fold the lines accordingly to make a small box.
Using the remaining cardboard, cut a 10cm x 5cm rectangular strip from the unused part of the box. Draw two bunny shaped ears on that cardboard. Colour in the ears and tape them to the box.
You can then use the coloured paper and markers to decorate your bunny box and store various trinkets and treasures in the box.

How to make a variation of the Bunny Mooncake Box
Take a smaller cereal box or cookie box and cut the top off to your desired height.
Use the remaining cardboard to make two shaped ears and decorated them accordingly.
Then, take the coloured paper and markers to decorate your Bunny Mooncake Box. This will also be useful to keep any desired treasures.
