The Tampines Round Market & Food Centre is well-known landmark amongst those who stay in Tampines. For those heading there with kids for their weekly shopping or a meal, the Tampines Round Market playground in front of Block 139 is a welcomed play spot.
The playground, which faces out towards the junction of Tampines Avenue 2 and Tampines Avenue 5, is made up of two main play structures.
Climbing Dome and Low Hammock Swings
The first is a metal steel dome which is fitted out with red climbing ropes. Forming four layers that kids can ascend, the dome at the Tampines Round Market playground offers a suitable challenge for older kids. They can squeeze their way through the various squares which can be found between layers.

It is a springy and bouncy affair climbing up the dome and can be plenty of fun even though it isn’t too tall.
The other play structure at the Tampines Round Market playground is also made from a steel frame. It has green trimmings from which are suspended several low, black rubberised swing hammocks.
Kids can make their way across the low obstacles, from one end to the other.
This second play structure is more suited to younger kids who may feel intimidated by the taller climbing dome.
Beside the two play structures, there is also some fitness and exercise equipment at the soft padded area.
