The National Day Istana Open House 2023 will be held on Sunday, 23 July 2023 from 8.30 am to 6 pm. This is part of the events lead up to National Day in August.
Visitors to the National Day Istana Open House 2023 will be able to tour the grounds and enjoy performances that will be held throughout the day.
Everyone is encouraged to wear red outfits to celebrate National Day.
National Day Istana Open House 2023 Performances
On 23 July, visitors to the Istana grounds will be able to join in various activities such as musical performances and arts and crafts. These will be held at the Main Tent and Ceremonial Plaza in front of the Istana Building.

From 9 am to 5 pm, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of band, dance and Dikir Barat performances by student groups from Anderson Primary School, Damai Primary School, New Town Primary School, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Bhaskar’s Arts Academy and Madrasah Irsyad Zuhri Al-Islamiah.

Band Performance by New Town Primary School at the Main Tent
10 am – 10.30 am
Malay Dance by Damai Primary School at Ceremonial Plaza
10 am – 11 am
Musical Performance by The ETC near the Rain Tent
11 am – 12 pm
Band Performance by Anderson Primary School at the Main Tent;
Indian Dance Performance by Bhaskar’s Arts Academy at the Ceremonial Plaza; and
Music Performance by Eunice and Lay Chun near the Rain Tent.
12 pm – 12.45 pm
Musical Performance by NAFA at the Reception Room
12 pm – 1 pm
Dance of the Nation by SportSG at the Main Tent
1 pm – 2 pm
Guzheng Performance by Tan Chu Yuan at the Main Tent
2 pm – 3 pm
Music Performance by NJ Studio at the Main Tent;
Music Performance by yIN Harmony at the Ceremonial Plaza; and
Musical Performance by Harmon-ee Music near the Rain Tent.
3 pm – 4 pm
Dance of the Nation by SportSG at the Main Tent;
Dikir Barat Performance by Madrasah Irsyad Zuhri Al-Islamiah at the Ceremonial Plaza; Music Performance by Fyrdauz Macbeth near the Rain Tent.
4 pm – 5 pm
Musical Performance by Gendang Akustika at the Ceremonial Plaza
Activity Booths
Activity booths will also be available from 8.30 am to 6 pm at and around the Main Tent.
Activities to look out for include Clay Craft, Pastel Nagomi Art for Children, Candle Art Making, a Merlion Activity Booth, crafts such as coaster painting, and face tattoo, interactive community games like giant jenga, hopscotch, Connect4, and more.
Other Activities at the National Day Istana Open House
Visitors can also pay a visit to the Istana Main Building where there will also be guided tours from 9.30 am to 5 pm.
There will also nature guided tours between 10 am and 4 pm.
In addition, there will be food and drinks stalls, food trucks, as well as merchandise booths with limited-edition Istana souvenirs and President’s Challenge souvenirs. All proceeds from the merchandise booths will go towards the benefitting agencies supported by President’s Challenge.
Entry to the National Day Istana Open House
Entry to the Istana grounds is via the Main Gate at Orchard Road. The nearest MRT station is Dhoby Ghaut. Entry to the Istana grounds is free for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents.
All other visitors (four years old and above) are required to pay an entrance fee of $2 per person. Only cashless payments via QR Codes will be accepted.
