Looking for a quiet spot for weekend brunch in the west of Singapore? Bread Yard, the bakery-cafe at Galaxis in one-North is normally bustling on the weekdays with office workers. However, on the weekends, the area quietens down and it is a place where you can chill for brunch – plus there is even a toy corner for families.
Bread Yard at Galaxis
Bread Yard is situated at the end of Galaxis that overlooks the road leading to the Fusionopolis car park. This gives it wide windows where you can get plenty of light coming in, something that we personally appreciated.
Bread Yard opens at 8 am every day. We popped by for brunch one weekend.

Bread Yard Food
On the menu, you will find pastries, breads and sandwiches.
Brunch menu items include Shakshuka, Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict and the vegetarian-friendly Avocado Fields. We had the Full English which included sausages, bacon, eggs and more.
Also available are pasta dishes like Prawn Aglio Olio, Mentaiko Pasta and Mushroom Truffle Alfredo. We ordered the Mentaiko Pasta which included an onsen egg, mentaiko, nori furikake on top of a bed of spaghetti.
On the whole, the food was decent. We enjoyed the flavours of the Mentaiko Pasta. What we did wish was that the brioche that came with the Full English was not quite so hard. For an establishment that specialises in bread, we were expecting the brioche to be soft and fluffy.
We also ordered a Lychee Cruffin and that was nicely flaky and delicious.
Toy Corner for Kids
Bread Yard also has a little play corner that will help to keep toddlers and preschoolers entertained.
There are a pair of rocking horses that they can use to sway back and forth, as well as a some simple toys.
A Chill Spot
Overall, Bread Yard is a spot that you can check out if you wish to simply chill and relax without having to worry about hustling about on the weekend.
