Hidden away inside Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Allora Ristorante and Bar is the place to be if you are looking for delicious Italian food including antipasti, pasta, risotto, pizza and mains. 

The restaurant opened earlier in 2024 and is helmed by an Italian chef. We stepped into its relaxed yet elegant interior where a warm woodfire pizza oven greeted us just inside the entrance.

We started our evening’s dinner with the Formaggi Salumi ($48), which is a board with cold cuts and cheese. Suitable for two, the board comes with cheeses like taleggio, parmigiano reggiano, gorgonzola, accompanied with cold cuts like mortadella, pancetta and Spianata Calabra. To complement these, there was a delightful homemade green tomatoes jam.

Carpacio at Allora Restaurant

From the antipasti section of the menu, we had the Carpaccio di Manzo ($26) which featured delicately-sliced Angus beef tenderloin drizzled with truffle sauce and showered with freshly shaved Parmigiano Reggiano.

Absolutely delicious. 

Aungus Filetto

Angus beef was once again on the plate with the Angus Filetto ($88). The juicy beef tenderloin was beautifully cooked to a pink medium rare and accompanied with a beef jus pepper sauce. 

Bologna

The star of the meal with the Bologna ($75). The veal cutlet for two was wrapped in bread crust and paired with Mortadella and Parmigiano Reggiano. The veal cutlet was soft to the bite with the crust adding a satisfying crunch. 

There are also other mains on the menu like barramundi, chicken and roasted rack of lamb. 

For those who prefer a pasta, the Pomodoro E Basillico ($22) is a signature dish. Another signature pasta dish is the Brasato 3 Pepi ($32), a homemade braised beef ravioli with sage butter and a three-pepper beef jus sauce. 

Pizza

When it comes to pizza, there is a choice of other red or white base pizza. These include the classic Margherita ($24) to the Tartare ($36), a signature pizza with Mozzarella, Cheese Fonduta, Angus beef tenderloin and baby sprouts.

Allora Ristorante And Bar also has a kids menu that includes familiar pastas like Bolognese, a star-shaped pizza and even chicken tenders. The prices for the kids menu range from $10 to $16).

If you are looking for a tasty beverage, you won’t be disappointed. Allora Ristorante And Bar has a beverage menu with an extensive selection of wines, as well as beers and cocktails.  

To finish off our meal, we chose the Coppa Kahlua ($16) and Alloramisú ($16).

Coppa Kahlua

Coppa Kahlua is a combination of vanilla ice cream, kahlua liquor, espresso, whipped cream, strawberries and almonds. We have never thought of this combination before but it is something that we will be trying for ourselves in the future. We felt an extra tinge of decadence every time we topped up the cup with the kahlua-laced coffee. 

Alloramisú

The Alloramisú is Allora Ristorante’s take on the classic Italian tiramisú. The signature dessert, made with homemade Savoiardi cookies, is assembled tableside.

Dusted with cocoa powder, the dessert was a fittingly sweet way to end off the meal.
