Located along the green link that runs between Yishun Central and Yishun Avenue 4 is the ant adventure tower and forest adventure playground at Yishun Street 61.
This Yishun playground can be found to the rear of Northland Primary School and includes several features that invite kids to play and have fun. This manifests itself in parts of the playground’s padded flooring being worn down from tons of play.
Ant Adventure Tower Playground in Yishun
The Ant Adventure Tower is one of the most prominent play features at this Yishun Street 61 playground.
It gets its name because of the huge “ant hill” mound that kids can climb up on one side of the playground. The mound also incorporates a blue and green slide that any ant would be happy to slide down.
The top of the mound is also connected to the neighbouring tower by a mesh bridge. This bridge allows kids to quickly move between the ant mound and the yellow and green tower and its two levels. The supports of the tower curve outwards and remind us of stalks of grass.
Another way to access the tower is by using the cargo nets. It is a fun way for kids to practise their gross motor skills while gaining confidence too!
The main ant hill is not the mound at this playground. There are also smaller ones that kids can play amongst close to a nearby cultivated garden.
Another interesting feature at this playground is an elongated see-saw.
There are some interesting swings too.
Forest Adventure Playground at Yishun Street 61
Beside the ant hill playground, there is also a forest adventure themed play structure within the same playground space.
With trees themed to look like they are poking out from the dense forest, the forest adventure playground offers many ways for kids to play including a climb “rock wall” and slide.
You can find the Yishun Street 61 Ant Adventure Tower & Forest Adventure Playground between Block 640 and Northland Primary School. It was a project by Semec Enterprise.
