Creativity and Imagination Unleashed, in a Sunlit Art Studio White Space
Housed within Ubi’s industrial estate, Art Pop Studio welcomes you into a sunlit white creative space that “pops” you right into the mood to create. As you enter, splashes of color, generous art supplies and vibrant artworks greets you, along with a giant size “Jeff Koons inspired” neon pink dog light wall installation that playfully barks “Art Pop!”.
This personable spacious art studio is owned by Ben and Laureen, and has been host to many happy gatherings from tots to the silver-haired; multi-generational family gatherings, corporate team building sessions, and even for hen parties!
Just like a balloon wonderland, colourful rows of balloons in transparent glass jars adorn the wall like candies as a studio centrepiece, and kids (and adults too) can’t get their hands off them. Getting into balloon popping action would require donning on waterproof raincoats and entering in a separate artistic “Splat Zone”, complete with googles and darts for that bull’s-eye pop! Washing and toilet facilities are conveniently located on-site.
Creating a Masterpiece – Uniquely yours
Eager to get into action, Little Pea picked an ocean-inspired palette having just visited the S.E.A aquarium recently. With the intention for Little Pea to create our first family “heirloom” art piece at home, we chose to go with a cute calligraphy character of our surname. The die-cut sticker was created within a few minutes and thoughtfully positioned as we conveyed our preferences.
Little Pea then dove straight in to paint a rich cerulean blue layer over the canvas base and sticker. We were then advised to pick a contrasting colour for our first balloon splatter, and white it was. Little Pea was intrigued as white paint was pumped into the balloon.
The balloon was again, thoughtfully consulted and pinned on our blue canvas within the Splat Zone. As she held the dart gingerly she started to get cold feet, and mummy had to help her pop the balloon! The wash off was quick and easy and Little Pea watched as mummy continued (and taking the chance to destress) to enjoy popping splatters of green and gold for the finishing touch. Little Pea curiously looked on as our calligraphic surname was peeled off and unveiled. She giggled with delight and was more interested in taking home the peeled character strokes – which would make another statement piece we reckon!
This was truly an artistic experience and memorable time we had together. We left Art Pop Studio eagerly anticipating to welcome our masterpiece(s) home.
