The Boon Lay View playground provides children in the neighbourhood with an interesting spot that makes use of some natural features to add variety to the play experience.

Located amongst the apartment blocks at the Boon Lay View estate along Boon Lay Avenue, the Boon Lay View playground is ringed by lush green trees, providing a serene environment.

At the centre of the playground is a low structure. Purple and green, with a tubular frame, the play structure has low steps that kids can climb along with a green slide that comes down the middle.

On the fringes of the play structure are purple panels. Designed in the shape of leaves, the panels have various play gadgetry that is suitable for younger kids.

Track for kids

Beside the main play structure, there is another. This is a green low track that is raised off the ground. Kids can make their way along the track to gain greater confidence with their footing.

At sections where there are undulations or wave from side to side, purple hand rails are there to provide additional assurance for young kids.

Older ones can try out the rock-themed rope bridge. With a thick rope at the bottom, kids can inch their way across from one of the rock “outcrops” to the other.

One of the most interesting aspects of the Boon Lay View playground is how it makes use of the mounds encircling the play structures as part of the playground.

Tyres are stacked up in the mound to act as steps for kids to climb to the top. Slides come down off the side of the slopes. It is not dissimilar to the Jubilee Park playground, except on a much smaller scale.

Low Mounds at the Boon Lay View Playground

Over at the exercise area, you will also be able to find some additional small mounds too. The whole area is a fun place to play some games.

The Boon Lay View playground is located not far from the marine murals at Block 216A Boon Lay Avenue.

If you enjoyed this story, we think that you will also enjoy this one on a massive playground in the West.
