Kids will have a ball of a time at the Champions Green playgrounds. Taking inspiration from the Singapore Sports School, which is just across the Champions Way road, the outdoor play areas in the Woodlands estate feature fun and unique soccer, basketball and rugby playgrounds that are sure to delight kids as they bounce from playground to playground.
Champions Green Playgrounds: Sports Village With Three Ball Playgrounds
There are a total of three Champions Green playgrounds. Each of these are based on popular ball-based sports.
There is the soccer playground in front of Block 567C, at the junction of Champions Way and Woodlands Drive 17.
Then nestled within the estate amidst the blocks of flats are the basketball playground in from the multi-storey car park and the rugby playground between blocks 568B and 567A.
Soccer Playground & Toddler Play Area
The Soccer Playground features three soccer ball structures that kids can climb inside.
Once inside, kids can explore the ball play structure which are stacked up and interconnected with one another.
A curved tube slide comes out from the highest ball while a straight slide can be found at one of the lower soccer balls.
One nice feature of the soccer playground structure is the climbing net that connects to the highest soccer ball. Not only does it provide climbing opportunities for kids but the metal supports make the soccer ball look as if it has just been kicked.
Just beside the striking structure are two basket swings where kids can sway away.
Younger kids between 2 to 5 years old will also find other ball themed play equipment here.
There is a volleyball merry-go-round as well.
Or they can climb up on a ball-themed kiddie play structure and play at the baseball see-saw.
There is also a four-person speed racer to encourage kids to get active while racing each other.
Basketball Playground
For more fun, dribble over to the basketball playground in front of the multi-storey car park.
This cleverly designed playground features a giant basketball looking as it is about to “swoosh” into a basketball net.
There are different play opportunities for kids at the Champions Green basketball playground.
They can climb up the stairs and into the spherical basketball.
Inside there are some climbing ropes.
Then cross the bridge and into the hoop and swooshing down a slide.
A second slide, built into the basketball, lets them exit the basketball playground that way as well.
Beneath the big basketball, there is a half-sphere basketball with climbing handholds on the exterior and a tunnel that kids can crawl through.
Rugby Playground
When ready, it is time to tackle the rugby playground that can be found a short distance away between blocks 568B and 567A.
The main feature here is the Rugby-themed Adventure Play structure. This is an obstacle course that kids can give a try to get from one end to the other.
Starting off at rugby-themed boards, they will have to cross net obstacles, a bouldering wall and stepping stones before they arrive at a netted tunnel.
Cross the net tunnel and they will find themselves inside the rugby ball.
The reward for all their efforts is a chance to speed down the yellow slide and do it all over again!
They can also enjoy kicking it at the belt swing or having a spin on the rugby merry-go-round.
Or for some bouncy fun, jump about at the trampoline track.
