The Coast-to-Coast Trail, launched by NParks on 30 March 2019, brings explorers along curated walks across some of Singapore’s best-known green spaces. These include MacRitchie Reservoir Park, Sengkang Riverside Park and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.

Starting at Jurong Lake Gardens, where the waters of the lake connects to Singapore’s western coast, the trail makes its way to Bukit Batok, through the Bukit Timah area and down to MacRitchie Reservoir Park. It then runs north-easterly via Ang Mo Kio, Sengkang and Punggol to reach Coney Island Park.

Also launched on 30 March 2019 was Rower’s Bay at Lower Seletar Reservoir, a new node in upcoming Round Island Route, and an off-shoot from the Coast-to-Coast Trail.

The trail mainly makes use of park connectors to link up the various parks. In some cases, the connections consist of existing sidewalks and roads. Directions are marked out with brown signboards along the way.

C2C App

C2C App, Coast-to-Coast AppThe experience along the Coast-to-Coast Trail is further enhanced with the new NParks Coast-to-Coast Trail app. This new app features various elements which help provide a curated experience along the trail.

The C2C app can be used for navigation for wayfinding along the Coast-to-Coast Trail and also helps users locate park amenities.

Checkpoints on the Coast-to-Coast Trail

Along the trail, there are also 10 checkpoints where the C2C app can be used to bring the native fauna to life through Augmented Reality. Users can also learn about surrounding points of interest through the app.

The 10 checkpoints on the Coast-to-Coast Trail are Jurong Lake Gardens, Bukit Batok Nature Park, Hindhede Drive, Adam Road, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, Luxus Hill Park, Sengkang Floating Wetland, Coney Island Park and Lower Seletar Reservoir Park (Rower’s Bay).

The C2C app will also allow users to complete quests, search for hidden fruits and share photos in order to accumulate points. These points can then be converted into rewards in form of F&B vouchers, products and services.

Future plans are for users to be able to develop their own curated trails to share with others through the app.

An online C2C Trail Guide is also available at the NPark’s website here.
