Growing up, I was very privileged to have my dad bring me out on dad-daughter dates. Looking back, I do appreciate my dad taking time off to spend one-on-one time with me from the time I was a kid all the way through my “angsty teenage days”.

It might not have seemed as significant back then, but simple dates like these are sure to stick in the memory of a child for a lifetime. Here are some fun ideas that you can try on your next daddy-daughter date.

Some of these ideas may not be possible at the moment since there are businesses that are still closed. Nonetheless, you can keep them aside for future reference when you plan your next dad-daughter date.

One fond childhood memory, and my dad’s way of motivating me to get up early on a weekend, was going to get pancakes for breakfast. There are hundreds of places to choose from such as a themed café and even a kid-friendly place for brunch. Alternatively, ordering in or make your own breakfast – a fun activity to try if you want to have a day in together.

First dates can get pretty awkward, regardless of occasion. If you are heading out on your first ever dad-daughter date, a movie before having dinner as a family is fun and easy place to start. Decide on a fun movie to enjoy together and resist the urge to pick an educational movie with a life lesson at the end. Enjoy the movie for what it is.
