If you like duck meat, or fancy interesting gourmet twists every once in a while, then the new duck meat specialist in town, Ducking Good, is your next go-to place on your makan journey. Founded by the same team behind Boeuf Steakhouse, Ducking Good channels the same passion in serving specialised meat dishes prepared using versatile cooking techniques.
Whether you are a healthy eater or a sinful glutton, there is bound to be a dish that suits your appetite, with duck meat cooked in different ways, from braised and herbal to fried. Individual set meals cost from $9.90++ onwards, and includes a soup of the day and a cup of tea.
Ducking Good: Duck Kut Teh Signature Dish
Ducking Good has taken on itself to expand its repertoire of duck dishes and, amongst its creations, is the Duck Kut Teh (Single $9.90++, Double $18.90++), a tribute to the local popular dish, Bak Kut Teh.

The herbaceous peppery broth comes with crispy XXL You Tiao (dough fritter). In place of pork ribs, duck leg is served alongside beancurd skin, enoki mushrooms and crispy garlic toppings.
The warm broth and soft duck meat paired with duck fat rice ($1.90++) are just the comfort food that you did not know you needed – that was the case for us, at least.
Other Duck Meat Dishes at Ducking Good
Another duck meat dish that we tried was the Herbal Roast Duck (Quarter $18.00++), which had a nice herbal touch in its tender flesh, under a thin and crispy layer of skin.
Our initial concerns that it could be gamey were quickly bitten off by the delightful light smoky skin and the savoury duck meat that greeted us.
Other duck meat dishes include the Salted Mustard Duck Soup (Single $9.90++, Double $18.90++) that serves slow-cooked duck legs in a claypot, and the Signature Braised Duck (Whole $69.00++).
Diners who would like some spice could give the Claypot Mala Duck with Vermicelli ($9.90++) a try.
While our contented stomachs did not allow us to try it during our visit, fellow diners did marvel at the duck meat’s flavour that surprisingly held its ground against the numbing mala. The Spicy Koushui Duck ($9.90++) and Spiced Duck Confit ($13.90++) were also crowd favourites.
Side Dishes
Side dishes recommended are the Stir Fry Claypot Ladyfingers ($9.90++) and the Ngoh Hiang Platter ($15.90++).
The Ngoh Hiang Platter has crispy prawn fritters, fish ngoh hiang and fried fish beancurd, all of which could be a tad dry in texture as a standalone dish, but serves as a cohesive set when coupled with the Duck Kut Teh.
As part of its promotion from 1 July to 31 August 2024, diners would enjoy a free side dish with the purchase of the Duck Kut Teh ($18.90++). Complimentary side dish choices include the Stir Fry Ladyfingers, Thai Sweet Chilli Tofu and Ngoh Hiang Platter.
