As we walked into Greenhouse, it was as if we walked right into a lush jungle. The foliage instantly whisked us into a getaway in a temperate forest, surrounded by sumptuous food. It did feel a tad like the Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay with moss walls, large leaves of various species and hanging topiary.
Greenhouse also boasted a view overlooking the golf course, which added on the perspective of diners being surrounded by greenery. This is of course, rare to come by in our city-state.
Greenhouse’s Sunday brunch buffet has a huge spread with five show kitchens and a wide variety of cuisines that will please any discerning palate.
There are Japanese, Thai, Seafood, Italian & Spanish Charcuterie, Chinese, Indian, Western, Appetisers & salad bar, , a dedicated kids’ buffet corner, an extensive sweets and desserts corner.
We quickly tucked into our favourites. The children went for their favourite Japanese cuisine with fresh sashimi, sushi as well as their favourite pizzas and slices of roast beef.
The chicken skewer or tebasaki at the Japanese section was a crowd-pleaser – it was very tender and flavourful.
Amazing Thai Dishes
As for the adults, we were very much spoilt for choice at the buffet selection at Greenhouse. We tried bits from every section and one must-eat we can all agree on is from the Thai section.
Since Dusit Thani is a Thai hospitality brand, it was not surprising that the dishes served and even desserts were authentic. The Khao Soi Gai (Thai Northern Chicken Curry Noodles) was a hearty and satisfying bowl, even though one golden rule of buffets was to avoid carb. We could not resist the noodles in fragrant curry broth.
Other Thai dishes you can indulge in include Tom Yum Goong, Khao Kha Moo (Braised Pork), Thai glass noodles, Salads, Thai Mango Sticky Rice, Thai-flavoured desserts.
We also loved the halibut from the Chinese section, naan from the North Indian section, fresh Japanese oysters and Angus beef slices.
Topping off our meal was a huge array of desserts to choose from – ranging from the traditional ones to the fusion takes.
Obviously the children were very excited about the chocolate fondue, ice-cream, Thai shaved ice dessert and gummies while the adults indulged in some durian mooncake and cakes.
What a feast!
Pooltime at Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore
Following a very decadent brunch, we then proceeded to the pool which the kids were eye-ing right from the get-go.
The resort has three swimming pools – a baby pool with water fountain features, a long lap pool with jacuzzi facilities, and a relaxation pool. There are also sunbeds and private cabanas to lounge on.
While the kids gleefully played at the pool, the adults chose to chill by the poolside and soak in the views. The breeze and the distant drone of the planes overhead lulled us to a quick nap in the cabana.
With everyone content with the afternoon recharge, we were ready to leave the haven of tranquility.

The Splash & Savour Family Sunday Brunch at Greenhouse, Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore is available every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month from 12 pm to 3 pm.
Rates are at $85++ per adult and $42.50 ++ per child (below 12) inclusive of chilled juice, coffee and tea.
