We’d been itching to do a spot of camping, but the recent heatwave made us think thrice! So we jumped at the notion of indoor camping offered by Changi Experience Studio’s Enchanted Night At the Airport!
Camping at Changi Experience Studio in Jewel: Enchanted Night At the Airport
This year’s edition of the popular overnight family camp in the airport is garden-themed, featuring the lush greenery and blooms found at Changi Airport.
Hands-on Floral Fun
Arriving at the studio after lunch, we checked our luggage in and proceeded to a Floral Resin Craft Workshop.

Besides engaging in hands-on fun creating our own floral-themed paperweights and coasters, those who were paying attention learnt a thing or two about the 600,000 plants that are found in the various indoor and outdoor gardens in Changi Airport.
Did you know that the airport has its own plant nursery? I didn’t!
A Horticultural Quest
Craft itch satisfied, the children were launched on a Be a Changi Horticulturalist quest around Jewel in search of answers to questions relating to our “Garden Airport”.
Quest booklet and pencil in hand, we began with a romp in Jewel’s Canopy Park, conveniently located one floor above the studio.
Tasks aside, there was ample opportunity for everyone to get distracted by the Discovery Slides and Foggy Bowls!
The nature of the quest also of course brought us to the Shiseido Forest Valley surrounding the Jewel Rain Vortex. Needless to say, we got distracted by that too.
But our favourite task had to be the one relating to a certain floral-themed gelateria, which made a great pit-stop before we launched into more adventures around Jewel.
Soaking in the Sights and & Sounds of Jewel
The programme allowed for generous amounts of time to take in the sights and sounds of Jewel before we were due to check-in for the night at Changi Experience Studio. We were also left on our own for our meals. Thankfully, there are plenty of food options at Jewel Changi Airport.
Spoilt for choice, we considered our options (not part of the camp’s programme): More play time at the Walking Nets and Bouncing Nets? Retail therapy? A movie at the Shaw Theatres? A massage at Natureland (for the parents at least)?
We finally settled on a free photo tour of Jewel conducted by the Apple Store, where we learnt a bunch of neat tricks to capture the photogenic scenery around us and everyone got to trial the iPhone 15 Pro Max to boot!
Night Excursion @ Changi Experience Studio
After dinner, we checked-in to our accommodation at the studios for the night.
Talk about a room with a view!
The kids had a good hour or two to go wild over the stations and games in the Changi Experience Studio before lights out and took full advantage of it.
The boys particularly enjoyed the Flight Simulator Experience where each child had 20 minutes in the cockpit to take the plane for a spin, under the watchful eye of an instructor, from take-off to landing.
Some after-dinner exercise on the Amazing Runway was also in order, as were endless rounds of the Smile Challenge, trolley-collecting and taxi-directing!
It was close to midnight before everyone settled down for some rest in our pre-pitched tents, grateful to be in air-conditioned comfort rather than under the tropical heat.
It had certainly been an outing for the memory books!
