Everyone knows what the premise of “Lava Floor” means – get off the floor! This game inspired by the reality TV series Floor is Lava, is a really fun one for families to play together.
How to Play Floor is Lava
The rules are simple: stay on the green squares, do not step on the red squares and earn points by stepping on the blue squares!
There are various game modes: casual, kids, challenge mode.
In the play time of 10 to 20 minutes depending on where you play, the aim of the team is to earn as many points as possible. The game is best played between two to eight players who work together to earn points by stepping on the right squares. The recommended age to play is 6 and above!
Stepping on the wrong squares (red) will cause the loss of points or life. The primary objective is to clear all the blue tiles in the room to advance to the next level.
Green tile are the safest, but the colours could change or the tiles can move!
As the game progresses, the speed and difficulty increase!
Playing The Floor is Lava: Our Experience as a Family
Lava Floor was a great game for our family – especially our boys who are 10 and 13. They loved the game and got quite saavy at avoiding the “lava” while stepping on the blues. It got all of us moving, and of course we could easily see who were the more competitive players out to get points and chiding those who were causing the team to lose points.
After a few minutes of playing the Adventure mode at Inmers, we were sweating. This was clearly an effective cardio workout while testing one’s alertness. It also requires team work so we could spit the room into various sections that each could be in charge of.
We reckon families with active children will love expending their energy in a fun way.
Before you book your game, do consider playing more than one game or even trying other games available to maximise your time. One game is just not sufficient to quell that desire to earn more points as a family!
Also, the more competitive your family is, the more tries you want to get onto the high scorers board!
