The general admission to Canopy Park is inclusive of four main attractions. These are:
- the Topiary Walk
- the Discovery Slides
- Foggy Bowls
- Petal Garden
Topiary Walk
Topiary Walk is one of the imaginative gardens that can be found at Canopy Park. Brightly coloured animal topiaries act as cute photo spots.
There are topiaries in the form or orang utans, elephants, a chameleon and birds that beckon visitors to stop and take a picture.
One of the cute spots at the Canopy Park Topiary Walk is a duo of orang utans. Posing in the see no evil, speak no evil trope position, there is a space for a person to join them in the pose.
Also look out for the blue bird that is the mascot of Jewel Changi Airport.
During festive seasons like Christmas and Chinese New Year, don’t be surprised to find these animal topiaries dressed up in festive garb. This adds to the charm of the topiary displays.
Discovery Slides
Part sculpture and part playground, Discovery Slides is one of the highlights of Canopy Park. The Discovery Slides, designed by Carve from Netherlands and built by local company Playpoint, offers plenty of fun.
From the outside, the Discovery Slides looks like shiny, reflective sculpture.
Inside, there are four slides. More recently, when we visited Jewel Changi Airport, not all the slides were open to the public. Therefore, you may only be able to take one or two of them.
Nonetheless, the climb to the top of the Discovery Slides structure is worthwhile. At 6.5 metres high, the Discovery Slides also acts a brilliant vantage point to survey the view of Jewel Changi Airport and the Rain Vortex.
Take note that there is a minimum height requirement of 110 cm to go on the Discovery Slides.
Foggy Bowls
Designed by The Exploratorium in San Francisco, Foggy Bowls features four concave bowls that have integrated into the garden. It is a rather whimsical spot where kids and adults can enter the sunken bowls and wait for the foggy mist to envelope them.
The Foggy Bowls range from 30 cm to 65 cm in depth. Once you get in, you may be tempted to just stay there. This is also a great photo spot where you can sit inside a Foggy Bowl and pose for a top-down photo.
Petal Garden
Close to the exit of Canopy Park is the Petal Garden. This floral garden at Jewel Changi Airport acts as a venue for different seasonal displays. You can often find changing displays of flowers or other activities take place at the Petal Garden.
Access to the Topiary Walk, Discovery Slides, Foggy Bowls and Petal Garden are included in the basic admission fees to Jewel’s Canopy Park.
Other Things to Look Out for Within Canopy Park Jewel Changi Airport
In addition to the four main attractions, there are a few additional things you can look out for while visiting Canopy Park.
Mandarin Ducks
Rather amazingly, Canopy Park is home to mandarin ducks. They have a little pond just for themselves not too far from the entrance of Canopy Park. Keep a look out for them on the right hand side of the path as you make your way in.
Olive Trees
Another notable feature at Canopy Park is the majestic olive trees. Look out for them on the opposite side of the path opposite from the Foggy Bowls.
Canopy Park Family Lounge
Also, if you need more evidence of how family-friendly Jewel Changi Airport is, then check out Canopy Park’s Family Lounge. Located right by the Foggy Bowls, the Family Lounge located within Canopy Park looks pretty swanky.
It is a diaper changing area for kids and young families that is not just equipped with changing tables and nursing rooms. You can find nappy Change mats, nappy bins, mirrors, and washbasins, as well as hot and cold water dispensers along with lockable nursing rooms.
View from the Toilet Corridor
To the rear and one level down from the Canopy Park Family Lounge are the toilets. We know it may seem strange to talk about toilets in the Canopy Park guide but what we think is notable is that you can get a pretty nice view of the Terminal 2, Terminal 3 and even the Crowne Plaza Hotel from the corridor outside the toilets.
Attractions with Additional Charges at Canopy Park Jewel Changi
In addition to the general admission area at Canopy Park, there are several other optional attractions that you can choose to experience for a fee. These include
- Mastercard® Canopy Bridge
- Mirror Maze
- Hedge Maze
- Bouncing Net
- Walking Net
Take note that Canopy Park admission is included when you purchase any of these attractions.
Mastercard® Canopy Bridge
This one is not for the faint of heart. The intrepid can venture out on to the Mastercard® Canopy Bridge to get a view of the Jewel Rain Vortex and Shiseido Forest Valley down below. The 50-metre long bridge also has a special party trick – at the centre of the bridge is a 20-metre glass bottom section. Experience the thrill of standing 23 metres high off the ground.
Mirror Maze
Designed by the world’s leading maze designer Adrian Fisher from the United Kingdom, the Canopy Park Mirror Maze will challenge to get out without getting confused by the interplay between the mirrors and the plants above.
After watching a safety video, you will be armed with a pool noodle and let loose into the Mirror Maze. It is a fun navigational exercise as you try to decide which way is out and what is a pathway and what is a mirror. Use the pool noodle to lead the way and make sure that you don’t accidentally walk into a mirror.
Hedge Maze
The Hedge Maze at Jewel Changi Airport is Singapore’s largest indoor hedge maze.
Personally, we prefer to the Mirror Maze.
Make your way in and take a wander around. you will encounter some interesting decorative gates that can be turned.
There are also sound tubes that can be used to send messages from one part of the Hedge Maze to another.
Make your way past a wall of sprouting flower and climb up the stairs to the circular look-out platform. This is the pay-off for successfully navigating your way through the maze.
Bouncing Net
The Bouncing Net is designed to be springy and bouncy. You can expect great fun bobbing up and down within the different sections of the Bouncing Net. There is also a slide to help you shortcut your way around the 250-metre long play area.
It take a bit of work to move about on the springy surface of the Bouncing Net but this is our personal favourite attractions of all of them at Jewel Changi Airport.
Walking Net
Not for those with a fear of heights, the Walking Net is a thrilling, 50-metre long net that will bring you over a 25-metre high, five-storey void. The net is taut which makes it easy to walk on. Once you are up the first, steep section, you will have thrill of making your way back down back to firm ground with nothing but the net between you and the ground far, far below.
However, as of November 2024, the Walking Net is temporarily closed.
As mentioned previously, the Hedge Maze, Mirror Maze, Bouncing Net, Walking Net and Canopy Bridge have additional admission charges.
