Fu Lin Men has been around since the middle of the 1990s and is a group of Cantonese restaurants that offers Cantonese style cuisine. This includes a range of dim sum that is available at lunch times.
We recently paid the restaurant a visit to try the Fu Lin Men dim sum dishes. The brand has four restaurant locations and these are at Novotel Singapore on Kitchener, Temasek Club next to Rifle Range Nature Park, Chinese Swimming Club and the National Service Resort & Country Club. We visited the outlet Temasek Club for a dim sum lunch.
Dim Sum at Fu Lin Men
The Fu Lin Men outlet at Temasek Club is located on the second floor and open to the public. During the lunch time, on a bright and sunny day, you can look out and enjoy the greenery of the nature park while having lunch.

There are a decent variety of dim sum dishes available at Fu Lin Men. These include classic dim sums along with some less commonly found varieties.
We started off our dim sum tasting at Fu Lin Men with the classics of siew mai and har gow.
One thing that stands out about the Fu Lin Men dim sum dishes is their size. While some the dim sum at some dim sum places are getting smaller, the ones at Fu Lin Men are really generously sized.
Siew Mai, Har Gow and Other Dim Sum Classics
The siew mai was large. What was especially good was that it tasted good as well.
Har gow can be one of the hardest dim sums to get right. Even though it is such a common dim sum, often the skin can either be too thick or too thin. Therefore, we were delighted when we bit into the har gow at Fu Lin Men. The skin of the dim sum was just right and revealed the plump pieces of prawn on the inside of the dumpling.
Another crowd pleaser was the char siew soh or roast pork pastry. This had a generous filling and was covered with a flaky crust.
Fu Lin Men also has crystal dumplings on the dim sum menu. While this type of dim sum is not our personal favourite, the version at Fu Lin Men was delicious and filled with plenty of “treasures” hidden inside.
Another dim sum dish that is available at Fu Lin Men are the beef meatballs. Like many of the other dishes, this dim sum is large, so much so that they can each be cut into half and you will still get your fill.
One of our favourite dim sums is the beancurd skin roll. This is done nicely at Fu Lin Men as well.
We also tried the xiao long bao but we always find that dim sum places are not able to do a satisfactory version of the dish, unlike restaurants that solely focus on xiao long baos.
To end off the meal, you can also order desserts like mango sago and herbal jelly.
Overall Thoughts about Fu Lin Men Cantonese Restaurant
We enjoyed the dim sum lunch at Fu Lin Men Cantonese restaurant at Temasek Club. The thing that stood out to us the most was the generous size of the dim sum portions. The quality of the dim sum isn’t bad yet. What was most impressive was the quality of the har gow. This tends to speak a lot about the overall standard of the restaurant’s dim sum dishes.
Beside dim sum, Fu Lin Men also offers a range of Cantonese cuisine. The menu even has Peking duck which is served with two different types of wraps.
If you are looking for a restaurant that isn’t too crowded and offers decent food, the outlet at Temasek Club is one place that you can consider.
