The Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is inspired by the iconic Forbidden Forest from the books and movies.
The night-time trail will take you through an illuminated forest where you will encounter creatures from both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series.
The magically lit trail is complemented by music from the movies along with sound bites that transform the landscape into a magical outdoor trail.
When we visited the Harry Potter trail, it felt oddly nostalgic as memories from the movies were revived as we wandered through the woods.
One of the first mystical creatures that you will encounter along the trail is the noble Hippogriff.
And as Hagrid said, “‘Yeh walk towards him, and yeh bow, an’ yeh wait. If he bows back, yeh’re allowed to touch him. If he doesn’ bow, then get away from him sharpish, ’cause those talons hurt.”
So, heeding Hagrid’s words, you can approach the Hippogriff and take a bow as you seek permission to venture further into the woods.
As you walk through the woods, be sure to keep your things close to you, especially around the Nifflers.
Other magical creatures include unicorns, Cornish pixies and werewolves.
Casting Spells at Interactive Stations
What we liked the most about the trail were the interactive elements such as stations where we could try casting spells.
Wands at the ready!
Take up a stance and duel with a partner against the epic background of the waters of Keppel Harbour to get your magic skills up to scratch.
Or cast a spell in the deep, dark forest and see it light up magically.
The highlight of the experience is the chance to conjure up a Patronus, summoning your own silver animal guardian, to light up the dark woods.
There are also various photo spots within the Forbidden Forest, inspired by the magic of the books.
Go on a Hero’s Journey
The night walk takes you on the story arc of a hero’s journey, taking you into the woods, encountering magic to trying out spells for yourself. Finally, it is up to you to step up to the challenge and harness your most powerful feelings and come out on the other side.
Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is a must-do for fans of the series. We do suggest to take your time to savour the experience as you take a walk through the dark woods.
It is a chance to experience the magic of the Wizarding World in a whole new way.
