High Tea at InterContinental Singapore: Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea
The Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea serves two and is presented in a theatrical fashion with an ascending array of bite taster-sized portions along with a choice of hot beverages.
The savoury selection includes creamy Brie Cheese and Wild Mushroom and Clover Honey-Miso Glazed Salmon with blend of sweet and umami flavours.
There is also Quiche Lorraine. However, unlike other versions of the dish, this comes infused with a multifloral honey for a subtle sweet taste.
Our personal favourite was the Foie Gras and Duck Rillettes on Brioche. Made with honey-glazed walnuts, onion marmalade and Rowarewa Honey, it was a savoury bites with light hints of honey.
Sweet Treats
The sweet selection at the Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea consists of five special culinary creations.
The Medoik Clover Honey Cake was made with spiced honey sponge and honey cremeux. This complemented the Biscoff Speculoos for an indulgent mouthful.
The tart Lemon Yuzu Compote of the Honey Redcurrant Mousse, decorated with a pretty honeycomb shaped topping, was balanced off by the Rewarewa Honey and Financier Sponge.
We enjoyed the almost-too-pretty-to-eat Pistachio Manuka Honey Choux Puff which was filled with luscious Green Tea Honey Chantilly.
The Ginger Manuka Honey Tartlet stood out for its mix of flavours; plus the candied ginger was perfect for nibbling.
The top it off, there was Chrysanthemum Honey Pavlova, which made use of Multifloral Honey.
Scones
No afternoon tea would be complete without scones.
InterContinental Singapore’s Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea includes classic English Buttermilk Scones and Raspberry Scones, accompanied by Devonshire Clotted Cream, Passion Fruit Compote and Wild Blueberry Jam.
Honey Beverages
For those who wish to unwind while lounging away at the Lobby Lounge, a pair of Honey Beverages have been specially created for the Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea.
The Queen Bee ($20++) is a cocktail with Mekhong Spirit of Thailand,Fair Kumquat Liquer, Lemon, Yuzu, Lemon Bitters and Comvita UMF 5+ Manuka Honey.
The non-alcoholic Honey Buzz ($16++) infuses Comvita Manuka Leaf Blend Tea with Comvita UMF 5+ Manuka Honey, Cloudy Apple Juice and Lemon.
These Honey Beverages are priced separately from the Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea.
Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea at InterContinental Singapore
The Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea collaboration between InterContinental Singapore and Comvita is available for a limited time only.
On weekdays, it is priced at $130++ for two guests and $65 per additional guest. This is inclusive of fine loose-leaf tea or coffee and free flow ice cream.
On weekends, eves of Public Holidays and Public Holidays, the Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea is priced at $140++ for two guest and $70 per additional guest. This is also inclusive of fine loose-leaf tea or coffee and free flow ice cream.
InterContinental Singapore’s regular afternoon tea is also available during this period.
