A mashup of The LEGO Group and Minecraft, who would have thought? Your child would definitely be familiar with LEGO 21264 The Ender Dragon and End Ship and its components. This was a thoroughly enjoyable set to build for Minecraft tweens. The big draw is the Ender dragon that shoots out arrows as well as a familiar Ender ship with a fully equipped interior.

bags and manuals from LEGO 21264 The Ender Dragon and End Ship

My 10 and 12 year old teamed up for this set and completed it within a few hours – this bought me mostly quiet time to rest amidst sporadic squabbling about who to build next. The turn-taking, to me, was a necessary skill to learn while building the highly coveted LEGO Ender Dragon and End Ship set.

The 657-piece set is quite a manageable set for anyone 8 and up and familiar with LEGO building. There are six bags in all and two manuals. The build experience was deemed easy to the LEGO and Minecraft fans, the only slightly more complex bit was the Ender Dragon – therefore the fighting over the builder role.

It is no surprise why the Dragon is star of the set. All the Ender Dragon’s limbs are movable and adjustable, furthermore it shoots out rays!

At this point, the Minecraft fanatics pointed out that the actual Ender Dragon in the game did not shoot out arrows but breathes out acidic purple fire. I was also brought up to speed regarding the various Minecraft characters while the brothers build the set.

minifigs LEGO 21264 The Ender Dragon and End Ship

In the realm of the Ender Dragon and End Ship are a few key characters. Firstly of course there are players in the Minecraft game. The minifigs make it fun to replicate game place. N Ender knight is even wearing Elytra – which are wings to help it fly.

The Ender Dragon is a fearsome final boss that players must defeat so that the victors can obtain fortune in the end dimension. The End Ship is an example of the fortune and guarding it are shulkers which was adorable boxed up characters. You can also find one adorable shulker in the set. In the Minecraft realm, it shoots out levitating bombs!

The End Ship also has valuable things like Elytra, brewing stand and an alchemy.

Next, check out the Ender Man – a creepy tall menacing figurine which can be found in any Minecraft dimension. It becomes hostile if you look at it in the eye and carries blocks to place them.

Ender Dragon Egg

The LEGO 21264 The Ender Dragon and End Ship set also has the Ender portal. It has the highly prized Ender Dragon’s egg perched on it. After the dragon is killed, the egg will spawn. This is the rarest item obtainable in the game, and the “trophy item” the builders will eye.

Game Play Ender Dragon and Shulker

To illustrate how much fun this set was, I had to keep it away so the boys could concentrate on their examination revision. This LEGO Minecraft set was so irresistible. First the dragon is fully jointed making it a joy to manouver, and obviously shooting rays made the button-pressing addictive.

(If only the Minecraft fanatics could show half the enthusiasm about their studies.)

End Ship

The End Ship was also a huge draw with a roof that lifts off and slides open. The interiors show the Alchemy and the other interiors of the ship. The LEGO version of the Minecraft setup pays close attention to the actual game play. Since Minecraft was constructed using pixels and squares, this makes the LEGO set even more accurate.

Other accessories like the Dragon helmet, dragon’s egg, health potions help immerse the kids into the LEGO Minecraft play very quickly. As a parent, I’m glad for this screen-free option to play offline.
