LEGO 60443 F1 Pit Stop and Pit Crew with Ferrari Car consists of 3 bags of LEGO pieces. Bag 1 contains parts for the Ferrari car, while Bags 2-3 contain parts for the pit stop. Two instruction booklets are given for the two separate components, which makes this set suitable for a collaborative build with a friend or sibling.
Starting with Bag 1, we worked on assembling the lifelike Ferrari car. Decked out in the signature Ferrari red and emblazoned with the Ferrari name and logo, the car is eye-catchingly bright and flashy.
Though relatively simple in design, the car still manages to incorporate a functional halo that can be lifted and lowered to allow the driver to enter and exit the vehicle.
Moving on to the pit stop, this has a really nice and sleek design, and is similarly embellished with red tiles, making it match with the Ferrari car.
Clever use of stickers add fun detail to the pit stop, such as TV screens with various displays and metrics. Little racing fans will appreciate the timer displaying a pretty speedy pit time of 1.95 seconds.
Now for the coolest part of the build – the functional extended arms which are controlled by a lever on the back of the model.
Once the F1 car zips into the pit, the lever can be pulled to swing the arms into place, bringing the pit crew into position for a lightning-quick pit stop!
The details on the pit stop are rounded out with tyre racks that house 4 spare tyres – just enough for a complete tyre change.
5 Minifigures for More Fun
LEGO 60443 F1 Pit Stop and Pit Crew with Ferrari Car includes 5 minifigures – 4 pit crew and 1 race driver. A fun detail is the F1 logo on the back of each of the pit crew’s shirts, while the race driver is of course decked out in full Ferrari gear (spot the adorable tiny Ferrari logos on his jersey and helmet!). The pit crew are all also armed with a wheel gun each, which are designed to be actually able to fit into the tyres – such a nifty detail!
Our Thoughts on LEGO City 60443 F1 Pit Stop and Pit Crew with Ferrari Car
We really liked how this set combines both simplicity and functionality to create something fun and playable. This set is alive with detail, from the ingenious synchronised moving arms which allow it to function as a real pit stop, to the spare tyres and wheel guns which allow the pit crew to actually conduct a tyre change (I’ve lost count of the number of times my 5 year old pit crew member has swapped out the tyres on this car!). In fact, we can already envision this pit stop being used to service all the other LEGO vehicles in our home as well! So buckle up, and let’s get building!
