This vibrant event celebrates the rich diversity of our Nation through four unique art experiences inspired by Singapore’s main racial groups.
What to Expect at the MacPherson Community Club Canvas of Cultures Night Arts Trail
The evening begins at Aljunied Crescent with a glow-in-the-dark Rangoli painting session led by Vijaya Laxmi Mohan, a Guinness World Record holder for the largest Rangoli. Participants will engage in this captivating art form, setting the tone for a night of creativity.
Next, attendees will move to Pipit Road for two more artistic experiences. First, enjoy a stunning Chinese ink and rice paper installation created by Lena and her team from Art Wonderland. Using luminous paints, they will depict local flora and fauna, blending tradition with contemporary art. Following this, Terence Tan and Jodi Thiele from ArtsSolute will guide a collaborative mosaic art project titled “Roots, Ships, and Wings.” Here, participants will contribute to tiles that celebrate Singapore’s rich cultural heritage.
The final stop is at the MacPherson Seasons estate, where Artz Johan presents a vibrant Batik Hoola Hoops installation. This artwork honours Malay culture with intricately designed fabric hoops, showcasing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship.
