More details of new attractions in Mandai have been unveiled! The attractions include Mandai Rainforest Resort, a Zoo school, Mandai Boardwalk and Rainforest Wild.
New Attractions in Mandai including a Hotel
Adding to existing attractions in Mandai like Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari, Bird Paradise and Mandai Wildlife West, Mandai Boardwalk will be opening later this year and then Mandai Rainforest Resort in the first half of 2025.
“While we continue to focus on expanding our positive impact in the fields of nature conservation, animal wildlife and zoological research, we are excited by the prospect of immersing our guests in a wide array of nature and wildlife experiences at the fully opened Mandai Wildlife Reserve”, said Mike Barclay, Group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group. “This integrated destination will be a unique gateway to many inspiring and respectful interactions with nature and animals, that Singaporeans and guests from overseas can enjoy.” He added: “We are excited to unveil new options for stayovers, with the Mandai Rainforest Resort acting as the perfect launch pad for exploring our wildlife parks and the many other offerings at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. We welcome Banyan Tree, the homegrown company with a globally renowned brand, as the operator of this new resort. We also look forward to presenting Rainforest Wild Asia, where parkgoers can navigate a Southeast Asian rainforest via various walkways that span the tree canopy, the forest floor, and a magical subterranean world of caverns.”
Mandai Boardwalk Opening In Late 2024
Soon, there will be a freely accessible green space overlooking Upper Seletar Reservoir. The Mandai Boardwalk is where visitors can immerse in nature and greenery outside the ticketed parks. The entrance to the boardwalk will be next to River Wonders.

Besides green spaces, there will be play areas and diverse dining offerings. A 3.3 km-long boardwalk skirting the perimeter of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo will also offer visitors unparalleled views across the Upper Seletar Reservoir.
Mandai Rainforest Resort Opening in the First Half of 2025
Mandai Rainforest Resort is set to open next year. Operated by Banyan Tree, Mandai Rainforest Resort focuses on a “conscious stay”. The resort is situated on the Eastern part of Mandai Wildlife Reserve and overlooks Upper Seletar Reservoir.
It will sit on a 4.6 hectare site where native tree species have been thoughtfully planted in harmony with the forest scape. There are 338 rooms in the four-storey building with standard and family rooms as well as other facilities.
Outside the rooms are 24 elevated seed pod-shaped treehouses set amongst the trees, some looking out to the reservoir. Biophilia deeply influences the resort’s architecture and is infused in all programmes, signature amenities and service.
The unique characteristics of rainforests – from the forest floor to the understorey, canopy and emergent layers – are illustrated within the rooms to inspire guests to appreciate the biodiversity surrounding them.
Within the resort are both an all-day dining as well as a specialty restaurant where sustainably sourced ingredients take centre stage. The resort will also offer a sensory journey through local art and design as well as spa experiences.
Guests will be able to explore local creations from community artists in the retail shop. A signature Wellness Centre will offer guests a range of holistic treatments crafted by renowned spa experts, in line with Banyan Group’s competencies.
Mandai Rainforest Resort also debuts as the first-ever Super Low Energy (SLE) resort in the country featuring smart control strategies, passive infrared occupancy sensors, and passive displacement ventilation, a solution that cools air using chilled water rather than traditional air conditioning compressor units.
Fifth Wildlife Park: Rainforest Wild
Ready for Singapore’s fifth wildlife park? Rainforest Wild will transport visitors into the rainforests of Southeast Asia and Africa.
Strap on those covered shoes for an adventure at Rainforest Wild Asia. It is the first zoological park in Asia to integrate adventure elements into its design. A variety of paths will cater to different expeditions, with chance sightings of animals like the Malayan tiger, Malayan sun bear and François’ langur.
Start with a leisurely stroll across a wheelchair-friendly boardwalk to take in the sights and sounds of nature and wildlife, to exploring forest treks, crossing over streams, boulders and fallen logs on rainforest trails.
For adrenaline junkies, embark on thrill-seeking adventures, climbing, jumping and abseiling around the park in safety harnesses while enjoying some of the most picturesque views and unique encounters the rainforest has to offer.
The finale to the rainforest adventure is a 220-metre cavern, inhabited by cave racer snakes, scorpions, hissing cockroaches, and a variety of other reptiles and invertebrates. Featuring massive stalactites and stalagmites, the cavern experience is inspired by the Mulu Caves in Sarawak – home to some of the largest, magnificent, and diverse limestone caves in the world.
Guests will experience an Afro-Tropical and Madagascar-inspired landscape over at Rainforest Wild Africa. Animals such as the Pygmy hippo and elusive Okapi will be featured.
The landscape has exotic components featuring iconic trees, and ravine formations where animal movements are orchestrated. Guests can also enjoy the park through immersive aerial adventures.
ZooSchool & Curiosity Cove
There will be nature-based edutainment activities housed within the indoor attractions – Exploria and Curiosity Cove right outside Singapore Zoo. There will be Singapore’s only ZooSchool offering zoo-based adventure programmes for the young, two campsites, Green Canvas – a meeting and conferencing facility, Mandai Gallery – an Exhibition space narrating the history of Singaporé zoological parks.
The additions will progressively open in the coming years as Mandai Wildlife Reserve transforms into a 126-ha destination offering an array of nature-centric experiences.
On the Eastern side of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to the resort are the sections dedicated to immersive indoor experiences and spaces. The area will contain ZooSchool, Curiosity Cove, Exploria, Mandai Gallery and Green Canvas. Expect verdant green spaces, activity lawns for alfresco activities, food and beverage choices, retail outlets and an engaging environment for play, exploration and education.
Families will be most excited about ZooSchool! The “school” will introduce children to nature-based outdoor adventure programmes that nurture their innate curiosity, resilience and sense of adventure. With a tailored curriculum blending outdoor and wildlife education, coupled with park visits, ZooSchool aims to instil in young minds a profound appreciation and care for the natural world.
Love nature, but prefer heading indoors? Curiosity Cove is for families, especially those with young children. It is intended to be accessible for the little ones at a scale, pace and level of interaction that inculcates an early love for the wild through tactile play. There will be a series of multimedia-enriched sensory adventures that encourage discovery by cultivating essential developmental skills.
