What’s on in March? Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay’s annual children’s festival March On is back from 9 to 19 March with an exciting line-up of programmes for children and their families. Theatre shows, Live Action Role Playing (LARP), interactive dance performances, parent-child workshops and child-led activities await!
Get ready to explore new worlds, embark on a theatrical roleplaying game, uncover the story of a lost boy and dance together with family and friends.
Expect a whole host of ticketed and free music, dance, storytelling programmes and workshops for all – children, families and caregivers – over the March school holidays in Singapore.

March On 2023 – A Children’s Festival at Esplanade
The Beginning of Anything
6-year-old Shan wants to be an explorer. She creates worlds using her paper and pencils, and discovers a new frontier – school. Would she dare to enter it? How will she find her place in this new world? Directed by Edith Podesta, The Beginning of Anything uses music, animation and storytelling to address fears of change and encourage children to bravely navigate their own fears.

Changeling
Last year’s Monster Hunt returns in a different form this year, as a theatrical role-playing game Changeling. The children’s mission is to locate Nadim, a runaway boy who disappeared twenty years ago. Sounds intriguing? Players will journey into a dark mirror of ancient Singapura ruled by a monstrous monarch. Free Nadim from this living nightmare!

Come Back Home
Participate in an immersive theatre experience about a child who went missing a long time ago and inspired by the quintessential Singaporean space – HDB void decks. Audiences can choose between being a participant, actively bringing the story to life, or an observer, taking part in key moments throughout the show. Come Back Home by Polyglot Theatre is a collaborative project by artists from Australia and Singapore.

We Touch, We Play, We Dance
Just for the children under 3, dancers will dance in a playful performance accompanied by music mixed live by DJ. The dancers will respond and guide the children through interactive movements, high fives, hugs and dancing. This experience is created by Second Hand Dance from the UK. Let loose and join in the fun!

WEAVE – A Children’s Workshop on Hopes, Dreams and Fears
WEAVE is a children’s workshop with games, therapeutic art activities and somatic movements. It provides young ones with a safe space to explore the threads of dreams and fears interwoven with events and changes in life.

INTERTWINED – A Parent-Child Workshop on Hopes, Dreams and Fears
Gather the family and participate in INTERTWINED to uncover shared family stories. Sharing stories that run through generations will provide a bonding opportunity for families to connect as they listen to one another and learn about each other’s fears and dreams through games, art and somatic movements. Find moments of healing in familial relationships with an intimate time sharing stories.

Kiap Kiap Revolution: Re-Imagine, Re-Order, Re-Connect
Pay a visit to Kiap Kiap Revolution: Re-Imagine, Re-Order, Re-Connect, a participatory art exhibition where artist Jimmy Ong and 3Pumpkins explore how toys can be deconstructed and reconstructed to discover the meaning behind acts of charitable giving.

Rattle King 2
Cars roaring by, people talking, the noises in the city are loud! Ever felt that way? Rattle King sure does! How does he deal with all the sounds? Join Rattle King and his jesters who learn to live with all the urban cacophony. Come early for a pre-show activity from 6 pm to 6.30 pm
