1. Why We Love Singapore Writing Activity
Help your children, students and the community express their love for Singapore. Get them to pen down why they love the country and encourage them to show their gratitude through a few sentences or even a poem depending on their ages. They can write about Singapore’s uniqueness like its efficient public transportation, safe streets, fun playgrounds and more.
This activity will hone writing skills, encourage a spirit of gratitude and patriotism and even promoting unity. You can then display the pieces in the classroom or the community wall for all to read.

2. I Spy with My Little Eye National Day Activity
Help your child to recognise various landmarks found in Singapore and even local dishes by organising a I Spy with My Little Eye National Day Activity. There are many ways that you can extend this activity to engage kids.
One is a share and tell – children can pick one picture to talk about it especially after a field trip. Or they can identify a building or food and share why it’s their favourite.
The other option is to print out all the pictures and hide it in various parts of the classroom or home. Then they can take turns to say “I spy with my little eye…. The Singapore Flyer.” They can work with their friends or a sibling and find all the relevant picture. As they do that, the child will be able to connect with the places and things that represent Singapore.

3. Story time About What Goes on Behind the Scenes at a National Day Parade
The National Day Parade is definitely the biggest event for the nation to celebrate Singapore’s independence. 4. Landmarks in Singapore Quiz
For older children, why not hold a quiz based on landmarks in Singapore to get them excited. Help them learn about Singapore’s landmarks in a fun and interactive way. Having a quiz gamifies the learning process and makes the learning come alive. It also equips the younger generation with knowledge about iconic places. You can even use it as a family quiz; perhaps even the older members of the family might not have the right answers.
This activity can also inspire the children to come up with their own quiz as a post-activity assignment. They can even test it out on one another afterwards.

This is a fun National Day activity for kids to conduct outdoors. Get ready a list of random items that can be commonly found around the neighbourhood or compound to get the children moving! They can use a mobile device to take pictures of the items spotted. The list can include items such as certain plants, flowers, fruit trees, insects, birds, a specific dish at the school canteen, signages and more.

Get everyone to sit in a circle, the first person says a word associated with Singapore and the next person has to say a word beginning with the last alphabet the previous word ends on. For instance, the first word is island, the second word will start with “D” so it can be the word durian.
For a simpler version, think of an alphabet and every word has to start with the specific alphabet.

9. Red Lions Parachute Craft
The Red Lions are a major highlight in our National Day parades. The team consists of members from The Singapore Armed Forces Parachute Team as they put on a daring and eye-catching display for members of the public. Little ones can now do an easy craft using a few materials and design their own Red Lion parachute as a display this National Day! 10. National Day Activity Booklet
