Babies from the age of seven months and above can now look forward to the newly-launched range of Nestlé® CERELAC® Infant Cereals with Yogurt with its triple goodness of yogurt, BL® Bifidus probiotics and nutritious cereals to support their growth and development.
Said Mr Heng Peng Kwang, Country Business Manager of Maternal and Infant Nutrition Singapore, Nestlé®, “While breastmilk remains the main source of nutrients for babies six months and below, Nestlé® CERELAC® Infant Cereals with Yogurt makes for an excellent complementary food for babies after 7 months, to fulfill their nutritional needs for growth and development.”
Benefits of Yogurt and BL® Bifidus
“Yogurt has all the health benefits for babies such as a rich source of calcium that aids to support strong bones and teeth development. It contains lesser lactose than milk, hence it is better tolerated. It is also an excellent source of protein – pre-digested proteins, due the culturing process during fermentation, and is easily absorbed by the body,” said Ms Jenny Ng, Principal Dietician and CEO & Founder of MindYourDiet.
Nestlé® CERELAC® Infant Cereals with Yogurt is the only infant cereal with BL® Bifidus probiotics currently in the market.

“Children are being exposed to more environmental challenges. It is important for parents to nourish and strengthen them from inside out, so that their bodily defences are sturdy enough to fend off unwanted germs. BL® Bifidus probiotics helps to fight against harmful bacteria to maintain a healthy digestive system,” said Ms Angel Lin, Nutrition and Scientific Manager from Nestlé® Singapore.

Said Ms Vyda Chai, a child psychologist from Think Psychological Services, “Some babies may be cautious eaters and may reject new foods introduced to them but parents must continue trying. Remember that every baby is different and they need time to develop skills and explore their own eating choices and experiences.”
She recommends that parents introduce a good balance of solid food to their babies after 6 months of age and introduce only one food at a time in small amounts.
