According to a MSF press release, this staggered reopening of preschools is to better enable preschools to ensure that staff, children and parents adhere to enhanced safe management measures.
In addition, in order to minimise transmission across centres, supplementary programmes such as enrichment activities where providers move across different centre will still remain suspended.
COVID-Safe ABCs: Safety Measures in Preschools
With the transition out of the Circuit Breaker period, all preschools will be required to adhere to the COVID-Safe ABCs – measures which cover access, behaviours and classroom activities.
Amongst these measures are the restriction of visitors, face masks or shields to be used by all staff and children ages 2 and upwards, as well as staggered drop-off and pick up times. Cross-class and large group activities will also be suspended.
