The new Buona Vista Node is a spot along the southern stretch of the Rail Corridor where the community can come together with spaces such as a children’s playground, two different exercise areas and event areas.
Developed in collaboration with Ho Bee Land, JTC and Urban Redevelopment Authority, the 1.6 hectare Buona Vista community node is the first along the southern stretch of the Rail Corridor.
Buona Vista Community Node Children’s Playground
One of the highlights of the Buona Vista Community Node along the Rail Corridor is a children’s playground.
This Buona Vista Node children’s playground has two play areas.

The first is a little mound that kids can climb up. The turf-covered mound has a rope on one side that acts as a climbing aid for kids to make their way up to the top. It is coloured in different shades of green, representative of contour lines.
On the other side, there is a broad slide that kids can use to get back to the bottom of the mound. Round wooden logs by the side act as stepping stones for kids to play on.
Cutting through the low mound is a tunnel that kids can crouch down and climb through.
The second play area at the Buona Vista Community Node playground is a wooden structure.
Kids can climb up to one of the platforms located on either end of the structure using the rope ladders. They can then sojourning between the two platforms along a wooden log bridge that puts their balancing skills to the test.
Other features at the Buona Vista Community Node playground include a wobbly log that is set on springs. Another play element that kids can use to practise their balance.
There are also little spring riders for younger kids to enjoy swaying about at the playground.
Fitness Areas and Other Community Spaces
In addition to the playground, the Buona Vista node along the Rail Corridor is equipped with two fitness areas. One caters to adults and the other to the elderly.
The area under the North Buona Vista Link viaduct has space for community and sports activities.
There is also a 500 sqm community lawn that serves as a flexible events space amongst others.
One other aspect to look out for while at the Buona Vista community node on the Rail Corridor are vegetated swales. These recall the original stream and marshland landscape of the area before the railway was built – a first along the Rail Corridor.
