What to Expect at The Cathay
The Cathay is still in the midst of re-opening. As such, many shops are still fitting out and not yet open. However, if you are curious what you can expect, here is a look at the revamped mall.
360-degree Multimedia Tower
Stepping inside The Cathay, the atrium is dominated a state-of-the-art 360-degree multimedia tower. This serves as an attention grabbing centrepiece for the mall.
The multimedia tower at The Cathay spans the height of three floors and 14.4 meters wide, the high-resolution digital display delivers ultra-clear visuals with crisp, seamless motion graphics that bring immersive storytelling and branded experiences to life.
Viewers can enjoy the visual spectacle from the grand steps of the transformed atrium that lead down from Level 1 to Basement 1. This new space will be an interactive hub for entertainment, art, and brand collaborations.
The Cathay Food, Dining & Restaurants
The basement of The Cathay now has a food court. Known as Food Avenue, this food court features stalls selling a range of food options. It was still in the midst of opening when we visited on 28 March.
Also in the basement of The Cathay, there are more food and dining options like Saizeriaya. Ya Kun will also be opening at the basement.
When it comes to coffee and cafes, you will find Starbucks and Kebuke on the ground floor on the inside of the mall. On the outside by the entrance of the ground floor, there is Fore Coffee.
Look out for other food brands such as Yakniku Like! and Tsui Wah too.
The Cathay Retail, Education & Lifestyle Stores
IUIGA, a modern lifestyle brand, will be opening its biggest flagship store of 7,000 square feet at the basement of The Cathay. Shoppers can look forward to affordable, thoughtfully-designed and premium quality home essentials and furnishings.
Gift.ed by Turtle, a craft and gift shop, is already open on the second floor.
Other shops that will be opening at The Cathay include sports shop Yes! on Level 3.
There will also be Cocoart, an art and crafting shop, as well as Makerspace Educator Innovac.
Located on Level 5 is a key anchor tenant of The Cathay – PSB Academy, a learning centre providing graduate and post-graduate courses.
There is also a gym located on Level 4.
Other Amenities: The Cathay Sky Garden
On Level 4, you will find The Cathay Sky Garden, an outdoor space.
There is also an entrance to The Cathay from Mount Sophia.
And you can still take the long “100 steps” by the side of The Cathay.
The Cathay Busker Returns on the weekend of 29 to 31 March
To welcome visitors back to The Cathay, the mall has arranged for local singer-songwriter Jeff Ng, also affectionately known as ‘The Cathay Busker’, to perform this weekend at the central atrium of the mall.
Jeff will be performing at The Cathay on 29th (7.30 pm), 30th (4.30 pm) and 31st (4.30 pm) March 2025.
