The Music Circle is celebrating the launch of its new Katong V school with the Spark Musical Weekends, two music-filled weekends where children as young as 2 years old can enjoy fun activities on 27 and 28 July and 3 and 4 August 2024.
Spark Musical Weekends at The Music Circle (Katong)
Adventure awaits your child as they journey through a magical garden and dive under the sea, exploring rhythms with friendly bees, playful dolphins, and more!
Kids will also be able to experience art and music through play. Other activities include a music-themed carnival with games, mini-opera for kids and a magic workshop by magician Mr. Bottle!
Early Childhood Music Trial Classes
Little Creatures
Join The Music Circle’s Early Childhood Music educators for fun-filled trial classes, where creativity comes alive through music and movement. Adventure awaits your child as we journey through a magical garden, exploring rhythms with friendly bees, blackbirds, and enchanting creatures of the night! Let your child’s imagination soar as they buzz like bees, fly like blackbirds, and discover the wonders of the garden with activities that spark their love for music.
When: Sat & Sun, 27 & 28 Jul 2024
For 2 and 3 year olds (parent accompanied): 10 am (27 & 28 Jul) and 3.15 pm (28 Jul only)
For 4 and 5 year olds: 11 am (27 & 28 Jul) and 3.15 pm (27 Jul only)
Under the Sea!
Music and movement bring the ocean to life at “Under the Sea”. Your child will dive into the deep blue sea, exploring rhythms with playful dolphins, colourful clownfish, and other magical sea creatures! Let your child’s imagination swim as they sing songs about the Deep Blue Sea and aquatic life.
When: Sat & Sun, 3 & 4 Aug 2024
For 2 and 3 year olds (parent accompanied): 10 am
For 4 and 5 year olds: 11 am (3 & 4 Aug) and 3.15 pm (3 Aug only)

Spark Workshops
Art Workshop: Exploring Ink with Rhythm & Harmony
Led by artist Tamares Goh, this workshop blends together music and theatrical elements. Children will get to explore the possibilities of materials, asking questions and discovering their creative potential. They will get their hands dirty, exploring how materials react and how to use them for artistic expression.
When: 27 & 28 Jul, 2 pm
For 3 to 6 year olds (parent accompanied)
Melodies in Bloom – Floral Craft Workshops
Enjoy floral craft workshops where you can make your own special crafts to take home with you. At 1 pm, design a beautiful bracelet or necklace using pressed flowers, complete with a musical note charm of your choice. Then join a workshop at 4.15 pm to create a stunning floral frame adorned with pressed flowers and complemented by music-themed stickers.

For 4 to 12 year olds
Magic in Harmony
Magician Mr. Bottle brings his passion for imparting the joys of magic performance to Spark with enchanting workshops for kids. Participants will learn how to be little magicians, harmonising magic with music to spark their creativity and joy through the art of illusion.

For 5 to 10 year olds
Magic Flute Quest: An Opera Adventure
Join Prince Tamino and his friend, the bird catcher Papageno on their journey to rescue Pamina. Along the way, meet and discover characters from Mozart’s magical opera and learn about how music and storytelling come together. Will Tamino succeed in his quest?
When: 3 & 4 Aug, 1 pm & 2 pm
For 6 to 12 year olds
The Clay Players: A Multisensory Art Adventure
Embark on an imaginative journey where clay comes to life with artist Tamares Goh! Young artists will explore the tactile wonders of wet and dry clay, create unique 3D characters, and bring their stories to life through creative play and theatrical expression. This hands-on workshop is perfect for nurturing creativity and storytelling in a fun, interactive environment.
When: 4 Aug, 4.15 pm
For 3 to 6 year olds (parent accompanied)

Carnival Challenges & More
Over the weekend, children can explore the various themed rooms, enjoy carnival activities and take part in various challenges like creating DIY instruments, catching musical notes and more. Complete the challenges to receive a special prize!
There will also be a Spark Photo Booth where you can show off your best sparkle!
