More Ideas of Free Things to Do on New Year’s Day 2025
Perhaps you are looking for free things to do or outdoor places to explore. Personally, we do enjoy heading out for a walk to simply enjoy a park on New Year’s Day. Here are some suggestions of free things to do on New Year’s Day 2025.
Choa Chu Kang Mini Road Safety Park
New Year’s Day is a great time to take the kids to explore the Choa Chu Kang Mini Road Safety Park. They can use their scooters or mini ride on vehicles to make their way around the road course and pretend that they are motorists on the road. Find out more about the Choa Chu Kang Mini Road Safety Park. After a visit to the Mini Road Safety Park, you can explore other playgrounds in Choa Chu Kang such as the animal playgrounds and the Mega Playground for more free fun with kids.
Tengah’s Insect Playgrounds
Head to the Tengah’s Garden to discover the insect playgrounds at Tengah Garden Court and Garden Terrace. Come face to face with a huge praying mantis, spider and a rhino beetle. We especially like the giant leaf insect. Find out more about Tengah’s Insect Playgrounds.
Tampines Eco Green
Tampines Eco Green is a spot of nature that is hemmed in by the Tampines Expressway, Tampines Avenue 12 and Sungei Tampines. This patch of greenery, at the edge of Tampines town is a uniquely positioned spot where visitors can escape away to a rustic forest just a stone’s throw away from urbanity. At Tampines Eco Green, you will be whisked away to another place.
MacRitchie Reservoir
MacRitchie Reservoir Park and its surrounding trails are centred around Singapore’s oldest reservoir. The MacRitchie Reservoir and its 12 hectare park are a lush patch of greenery nature that provides a wonderful space in the middle of the island. What we like is that there are a variety of trails around MacRitchie and you can choose how far you wish to go. MacRitchie Reservoir gives us a nostalgic feel and it is a wonderful place to commune with nature while being easily accessible. You can go for a short walk around the park, head further out by exploring the boardwalks or even trek around the entire reservoir. Choose your own adventure and how far you wish to go on New Year’s Day. Find out more about MacRitchie Reservoir.
Hike Up Bukit Timah Hill
Another fun and challenging outdoor thing to do on New Year’s Day is to get your year off to a great start by reaching for new heights at Singapore’s tallest natural feature Bukit Timah Hill. You can take the main pathway up and explore Hindhede Nature Park at the same time, or choose the more intense route to the summit of Bukit Timah Hill by taking the Dairy Farm Loop. Then explore what else the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve has to offer by taking the side routes and paths that fan out around the hill.
Wishing You a Happy New Year!
Whatever your plans are for New Year’s Day in Singapore (maybe you just want to spend the day in and get the year off to a slow start), we hope that you have a good time with family and friends.
Happy 2025 and wishing that the year ahead is one filled with joy and happiness for you and your loved ones.
