Tokyo Disneyland has announced that it will opening the largest expansion in its history on 28 September 2020. This expansion of Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Toon Town will see the introduction of new Beauty and the Beast and Baymax attractions.
The new Tokyo Disneyland expansion covers an area of about 47,000 square metres which straddles Fantasy Land, Tomorrowland and Toon Town. It has been under development for the past three years.

The new Fantasy Land at Tokyo Disneyland expands on the existing Fantasy Land. It themed after the Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast.

Dominating the new land is the castle from Beauty and the Beast. The new attraction here is the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. Take an eight-minute ride in a magical cup to relive scenes from the movie.
There are also shops and restaurants themed to make it look like guests have stepped into a provincial town.
There is also a Fantasyland Forest Theatre which will open at a later date.
The Happy Ride with Baymax & Minnie’s Style Studio
Over at the Tomorrowland, guests can enjoy The Happy Ride with Baymax based on Disney’s Big Hero 6. This is a rotating ride set to uptempo music. It is the first ride attraction to feature the friendly healthcare robot and six original songs were created specially for the ride.

A new popcorn specialty shop has also opened at Tomorrowland.
The last section of the expansion is at Toon Town where a Minnie’s Style Studio has been built for guests to meet with Disney characters.
