You won’t need to worry about catching the last train home if you book a stay at Train Pod @ one-north. Instead, you will be staying overnight in decommissioned MRT train carriage.
Train Pod @ one-north is a boutique co-living hotel that has parked itself at one-north and it is sure to appeal to train enthusiasts, urban explorers and those looking for a unique experience.
Singapore’s first accommodation experience in a train carriage is the brainchild of local startup Tiny Pod. It worked together with local startups like Igloohome, Ailytics and Vouch to create the the interesting co-living experience.
Approximately $300,000 and eight months of work went into transforming the decommissioned SMRT train car into a hotel.

What to Expect at Train Pod @ one-north, the Train Hotel
In keeping with the train-theme, the interior of the MRT train carriage has been conserved.
The train hotel occupies a Kawasaki-Nippon Sharyo C751B (KNS) train car. This model belonged to the third generation of trains for the North-South and East-West Lines from 2000 to 2024.
The driver’s seat and a large part of the control panel have also been conserved. This has become part of the room that is located at the front of the carriage.
There are a total of eight rooms with the train hotel. Each room comes with Murphy bunk beds and can accommodate two guests.
The train hotel’s rooms are fully air-conditioned and come equipped with WiFi and Netflix.
Each room also has an attached bathroom with toilet and shower.
Overall, the train hotel rooms aim to strike a balance between space efficiency and creature comforts for guests.
A New Amenity Node at LaunchPad
In addition to being a co-living space, Train Pod @ one-north also serves as an amenity node within JTC’s LaunchPad.
There is a 24 hours, 7 days a week food and beverage vending machines cafe along with an outdoor dining area. Original MRT train seats and bicycle racks have been installed here.
Other amenities available on site include a washing machine and dryer.

Startups like Tiny Pod can tap on the LaunchPad ecosystem to collaborate and experiment with other like-minded players to turn vision into reality,” said Ms Yap Eai-Sy, JTC’s Director for New Estates Business Development and Marketing Division.
“JTC’s LaunchPad has given startups like ours the space to test bold ideas. With Train Pod @ one-north, we’re showing how unused urban assets can be transformed into unique hospitality experiences, while promoting sustainable development,” said Mr Seah Liang Chiang, Founder of Tiny Pod Pte Ltd.
Where is the Train Hotel at one-north?
The train hotel is located at the car park next to Block 69 Ayer Rajah Crescent. It is easily visible from Ayer Rajah Crescent and just a short walk away from the Timbre+ food court.
