The Ubi Grove playground offer plenty of fun with four different themed areas that will get kids excited! They can play on a cargo truck, climb into a toolbox, drive around a road circuit and explore a super-sized car.
Ubi Grove Playgrounds: Transport-themed Fun
When you hear people mention “Ubi”, what comes to mind? Is it the driving test centre? Or perhaps the industrial and car workshops in the area?
The Ubi Grove playgrounds reflect on the heritage of the area with plenty of wheely-fun transport-theme play spaces for children.
There are a total of four playgrounds found within the new Ubi Grove estate that can be found next to the upcoming Ubi MRT Station, bounded by Ubi Avenue 2, Ubi Avenue 1 and Ubi Road 3.

Cargo Truck, Fuel Pump & Toolbox Playground
The first Ubi Grove playground in front of Block 358D Ubi Grove is suited for older kids with different interesting structures to explore.
Kids will be drawn to the cargo truck where they can climb into the driver’s cab and grab the steering wheel.
From the cab, they can make their way to the cargo bed that is filled with crates and ropes.
There is even a secret space under the truck to explore.
For those who are wondering why there is a leaf motif on the truck, it is a tapioca leaf since “Ubi” means tapioca in Malay.
Then climb into a bright green fuel pump with a bright yellow hose. The supersized pump entices kids to reach the top so that they can slide down and do it all again.
A series of larger-than-life tools lay strewn out at the Ubi Grove playground.
These must have come from the supersized red toolbox close by.
Kids can climb inside the toolbox for some. There is a huge spherical bell that they can shake and ring, as well as more climbing opportunities inside.
Bouncy trampolines round up the fun at this – the first of four – Ubi Grove playground.
Traffic Circuit & More Trucks
Just a short distance aways is the second Ubi Grove playground, found in front of 357D Ubi Grove.
This playground is more suited for younger kids and toddlers.
A driving track laid out on the ground leads kids from the merry-go-round to different vehicles like cars and trucks.
Kids can even climb inside the vehicles and work the controls.
A play structure at the centre of the playground offer more play opportunities.
A series of numbered mounds challenge kids to hop from one spot to another.
Jeep, Van, Driving Circuit & Climbing Ring
More fun play opportunities await at the third Ubi Grove playground. This one is located at Block 358 Ubi Grove.
This playground area has play spaces for both younger and older kids.
There is what looks like a hipster’s VW van. One kids can climb into the driver’s seat while his or her friends pile into the back of the van.
Kids can also climb into a jeep and pretend that they are off on a safari ride.
A little gas station with a fuel pump add to the theming.
Kids can take their ride-on cars to figure-of-eight driving circuit for play-pretend. With zebra crossings, traffic cones and traffic lights, you can organise your own mini Road Safety Park here.
Also at this playground is a bright orange, netted climbing structure. Adventurous kids can make their way up to the top of the net for a test of their skills.
Other play equipment found here include a circular spinning “merry-go-round” and a bouncy surfboard.
The Monster Car Playground
The last exciting playground for kids to explore at Ubi Grove is a Monster Car Playground at Block 356C Ubi Grove.
While we call it a monster car, it looks more like a hybrid between a sports car and a pick-up truck with a cargo bed at the back.
The size of the bright blue car is massive and even adults will feel dwarfed by it.
Enter in by the ajar door on the left of the car.
Grab the humongous steering wheel and keep a look out for the dinosaur in the rear view mirror.
Kids can explore the engine block at the front of the car or head to the cargo bed at the back.
We liked the details like the postal code included on the monster car’s license plate.
Transport-fuelled Fun at the Ubi Grove Playgrounds
With four different, themed play areas, the Ubi Grove playgrounds offer kids plenty of opportunities to explore and have fun adventures with parents and friends.
We like how the playgrounds draw on the heritage of the area and perhaps, in the future, Ubi will not just be associated with workshops and driving tests but happy memories of fun little day outs too!
