Standing fans can be noisy, ugly and require frequent cleaning due to dust accumulating. It is refreshing to use a fan that does not cause more dust bunnies to gather but purifies the space as well!
In addition, the vvave Nimbus has a unique suspended design. The usual air purifiers are typically stationary on the ground where airflow is restricted with limited air targeting. With a purifier that “floats” and rotates mid-air, the air circulation and purification is unmatched. It pulls in dirty air from a wider surrounding and cleans the air efficiently.
As I unboxed the device, I loved how sleek and white it was. It was aesthetically pleasing, not bulky and different from the usual fans we have used and owned. Unsurprisingly it was the winner of the iF design 2023 award.

Features of vvave Nimbus Bladeless Purifier Fan
To enjoy powerful wind usually means loud noises from the fan. That can be a real annoyance when one is working from home, taking calls or studying. We all love a serene environment that facilitates focus.
The vvave Nimbus Bladeless Purifier Fan is quiet, delivering turbocharged airflow with minimal energy consumption powered by a premium BLDC motor.
In addition to being energy-saving, vvave Nimbus purifies the air at the same time. It removes 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.1 microns including allergens, smoke, dust, PM2.5 particles, viruses, pet fur, foul odours, bacteria, pollen, mould and more.
To test it out, I switched it on when disinfecting the walls, cooking, indulging in durian and when there was fogging outdoors. The vvave Nimbus could efficiently remove the strong bleach smell within 15 minutes of usage. It could also remove the smell of food (even durian) and pesticides in the home very effectively. This was definitely a huge plus for us, as a family with children who are prone to allergic sinusitis.
There are three ways to manage the controls of the fan: the digital touchscreen, remote control and the Smart app. It was intuitive to use and did not take much figuring out to operate it.
Choose from nine airflow speeds, four modes – auto, max, silent, natural, four different oscillations to ensure airflow in a desired space, and four brightness settings! With so many options to choose from, one might be a tad overwhelmed by the options!
For larger rooms, opt for the 120 oscillation so the room is better ventilated. I preferred the natural mode with the airflow speed at 4. The timer also ensured that the Nimbus turned off after a certain duration, thus reducing energy wastage.
The light mode is perhaps more of ambient lighting, I did not use it much but it could be useful as a night light.
My Take on the vvave Nimbus
This high-tech Purifier Fan was certainly a welcome addition to the household. The bladeless design meant I no longer had to deal with blades that collected dust, nor dismantle the wire guard to clean it thoroughly. This eases the housekeeping load.
I also appreciated how efficient it was in cleaning the air, especially removing strong smells that could be toxic to the home. In addition to purifying, the home has airflow, especially in corners where air typically stagnates.
Another perk was the filter that lasts three times longer than the usual filters. This meant I could monitor the filter via my mobile app and change it less frequently.
With an increasing emphasis on eco-conscious living, the vvave Nimbus certainly helps in reducing energy consumption with its energy-efficient motor and timer functions.
