Conveniently situated within Kinex Mall in Katong is Wan To Play Space, a space-themed indoor playground that caters to children between the ages of 2 to 10. It is a spot where kids can let their imagination take flight at a variety of play areas that allows them to engage in active play as well as creative pursuits.

Wan To Play has a series of indoor playgrounds with locations around Singapore including I12 Katong and West Coast Plaza. Each of these indoor playgrounds are themed seperately. Wan To Play at Kinex Mall features a space theme.
The indoor playground features seven primary play areas:

- a dress-up zone for imaginative play;
- a bouncy trampoline area with soft foam blocks;
- a ball pit with an interactive wall;
- a padded obstacle course;
- a sensory sand play area;
- a brick building wall; and
- several mini arcade game machines (tokens available for purchase separately).
These individual play areas cater to different age groups.
Younger children will enjoy the ball pit and sensory sand play, while older kids may prefer the more physically demanding areas.
Initially, the ball pit with the interactive wall was a major draw for my kids. Unfortunately, on the day of our visit, we discovered that the interactive game and air cannon guns were out of order.
As a result, my kids shifted their focus to the padded obstacle course and slides.
After some energetic play, they spent around 40 minutes at the sensory play area.
There are two types of sensory sand play available. One of this was kinetic sand play and the other was with small plastic beads.
The couple of arcade games provides an alternative activity for kids besides jumping and running about.
To create a more space-like atmosphere, the theming of Wan To Play at Kinex Mall displayed planets, suspended from the ceiling, and a blue-hued light illuminated the area.
Final Thoughts about Wan To Play Space at Kinex Mall
Although I appreciate that accompanying adults can enter the play area without additional fees, I noticed that the general area seems worn and was in need of upkeep.
Having some arcade game credits included with the admission ticket would be a nice bonus.
Admission to Wan To Play Space is $35 per child. This is inclusive of two hours of playtime and admission for one accompanying adult.
There is also a gift shop that sells merchandise. This sells a variety of items for kids. In addition, there are also some token-operated rides for kids available.
